Interesting Recipe Site February 17, 2008
Posted by Drew in : Miscellany , add a commentI like food and I like cooking. Of course it’s nice to try new things and there are a stack of sites out there with recipes on them. Cookthink is an interesting take on the idea. The site allows you to select by ingredient, mood, dish and cuisine to get to some ideas. As an example you can select One Pot (dish) and Hearty (mood) and it will generate a prefered recipe. Don’t fancy it? Well there will be others. Quite a good range already and they actually work.

Do you have a secret? February 8, 2008
Posted by Drew in : Miscellany , add a commentI will start by saying that this is very much one that you will either get or not.
Post Secret is a “community art” project based on people sending in their most intimate secrets via postcards. For an explanation as to the hows and whys of the project check here.
A new batch of postcards is released every Sunday and they can be found here alternatively they can be subscribed via an RSS reader which is how I get them.
To me these postcards hit to the heart of the people sending them and whilst there are a few that appear self serving and trite the majority are heartfelt. The range since I have been viewing them ranges from humour and light comments through to sadness and heartbreak. There are some that are downright heart wrenching. There are a number of books that have come from this project and as a mark of how I rate this I have them on my wishlist.
How to freak out rail users
Posted by Drew in : Miscellany , add a commentOK so this is just freaky. The guys at improveverywhere.com set up a mass stunt at New York’s Grand Central Station where over 200 members of the improv group decided to make the “regular” station users think that time had stood still.
Of course you need a lot of time on your hands to take part.
